Keisy Peyerl Xavier
Brazilian pianist Dr. Keisy Peyerl Xavier has established herself as a distinguished solo and collaborative pianist. A versatile artist with a strong foundation in Classical piano education has also musical experience in other genres such as Brazilian Jazz, Gospel, Pop/Rock to Musical Theater.
With a diverse artistic background, and a robust foundation in Classical piano, Keisy’s journey culminated in the attainment of a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi, complementing her earlier degrees obtained in her homeland. Keisy’s accomplishments include clinching First Prize in the MMTA Collegiate Competition and securing high positions in prestigious contests, like the “National Piano Competition from the Brazilian Academy of Music” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has enriched her skills through masterclasses with eminent pianists globally, from École Normale de Musique de Paris, the San Francisco Opera Center, and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Germany. Currently Assistant Professor of Music and Collaborative Pianist at Clarke University in Iowa, Keisy’s achievements are amplified through her dynamic artistry and profound connection to music.
Some of Keisy’s previous engagements include repetiteur and coach for Opera Mississippi’s production of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, recorded the album Con La Voce, in Houston, with the Soprano Kay Boyte-Moore involving operatic arias and German lieder, and won an apprenticeship opportunity, fully funded, by the International Performing Arts Institute in Germany as Collaborative Pianist and Vocal Coach.

Work Experience
- Assistant Professor of Music, Piano – Clarke University
Conducts piano lessons for undergraduate students, teaches Keyboard Skills courses, committee member of proficiency exams. Gives solo and collaborative piano performances in concerts, recitals, and other musical events in and off campus. Participates in faculty recitals and collaborates with other musicians, including vocalists, and instrumentalists. Serves as departmental Collaborative Pianist providing accompaniment for degree recitals, vocal and instrumental lessons, rehearsals, juries, and choir rehearsals. Coaches student soloists and chamber music groups. Collaborative experience in other keyboard instruments such as harpsichord and organ.
